For the LOVE of Sunshine ! !

Today is Thursday, so I got off work at noon.
I swung by Chick Fil-A and picked up lunch for all of us. :)
A ceasar wrap for me with a sweet tea... chicken nuggets for the kids.
Then we went by one of my old colleges to have transcripts mailed to my new college.
They informed me that I couldn't have my transcript mailed because they don't have my HS transcript, which is crazy since I took dual credit classes at the college while I was in HS. :D
Hopefully the lady at the HS, has it already all straightened out for me.
I think i'm the only one ever, that has had this much hassle trying to go back to school.
Thank  goodness i'm meeting with my advisor next Thursday and maybe then finally I'll be registered for summer classes.
Wooohooo!!
Anyway, I'm happy to be off and ready to enjoy the day...
outside with the kids, the sun is out, then T-ball practice tonight!
First game is next Friday night!
 Yipppee!!

Now I'm ready to make plans for the weekend, and also just hang out at home.
Happy Thursday all!!

Loss of a Deputy

Earlier this week, a deputy for the county sheriff's department I work for was directing traffic on a rural road.  A cow had been hit by a car and was lying in the road.  While our deputy was out serving his community, keeping the citizens on the road safe, the injured cow's instincts of fight or flight kicked in and it got up off the road, and attacked him.  Mr. Britton, our deputy, was thrown onto his head on the pavement... he suffered very grave head injuries and yesterday passed away from his injuries.  Our county has suffered a tremendous loss.  Although I did not ever meet deputy Britton myself, friends that knew him say he always laughed and smiled and tried to help everyone he knew.  I cannot imagine how the family of our long serving deputy of 19 years, must feel losing, their father to a cow attack.  Most people more than likely go over what could happen when a criminal maybe pulls a gun, or the possibility of a car crash.. but normally there are not scenarios of cows attacking. This is a very tragic end to a 54 year old man's life. I pray for comfort and strength for the family of Mr. Britton, and also for all of the deputies who had contact with Mr. Britton on a daily basis in the Sheriff's department. Please keep Mr. Britton's children in your prayers, and all of his dear friends at the Sheriff's department.

Lots of prayers for all,

The Surprise !

Yesterday I turned the big 24. :)  I was asked Friday to join my sister for dinner Saturday night at a restaurant that is in an old mansion in Tyler. I was supposed to meet my sister at 6pm to get ready and head to the restaurant.  At 6:30, my sister got to her house, and we started getting ready... we had reservations at 7pm.. needless to say we didn't make it there until 7:30.  When we arrived, we were escorted upstairs to our table.  I came through the door and four  of my best friends  (three from work , a friend from high school) and of course my mother and sister were at the table waiting on me, with a beautiful cake!  We had such a great time eating wonderful food.
Such a delicious cake ! !

Spring Time in East Texas

Spring officially started on the 20th.
I am so in love with spring, minus the pollen..
however, pollen brings all of the beautiful flowers and birds in. :)

I love going outside and just taking in God's creation.
I'm amazed and in awe everyday at all of the beauty around me.
I love that it is warm, but not hot... and it is finally daylight a little longer.
It's so nice to drive an hour home from work and
it is still daylight outside, so I can watch Payton play.

I have so much fun teaching Payton all about how things grow.
The other day Payton and I were playing outside
he noticed that on the pine trees, there were lots of small yellow
things... he pulled about 3 off, and brought them to me and
said "Momma, I want you to tell me all about these...
then I started to tell him how the small yellow things,
were in fact, small pinecones.  =D
Once I started explaining all about pine trees
and how they grow, he had to go pull more off,
and tell me again he wanted
to know everything there was to know about pine trees.
I love that he is so curious and ready to learn.
I'm going to take advantage of his curiosity and enjoy it to the fullest,
because I know soon my little pine seed will be a big
then a

I love that little boy so much!!

"If you don't have anything nice to say...

Since starting work at the county again I have been faced with gossip and people that constantly speak badly of others and judge them by appearance.  My thoughts have ranged from embarrasment to anger.. to just wanting to help those who do the talking... to understand that there are reasons people are the way they are.

Yesterday morning, I was in our central jury room, working with jurors, an elderly man who worked for a local pipe company came in, and was rather dirty.  His hands were black, probably from the greased pipes he worked with, his face had grease on it, and he looked as if he hadn't bathed in a week or two.  Immediately after he left our check-in table, a couple of our employees starting gesturing to each other and asking if each had seen him with his dirty clothes.  I was so ashamed and saddened ( our table is not 15ft away from where this man chose to sit), it is none of our business why he was so dirty, or his living conditions.   Jesus said to love thy neighbor and to be kind to one another.  For all we know we could have been speaking to Jesus through that man... I don't think he would have been impressed.  Ephesians 4:32 says " Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."   It is easy to judge people by their looks and attitudes, but the truth is we don't know what is going on in everyone else's life.  Please try not to judge others.  It is far better to be courteous, and be nice and thoughtful to others, rather than judge others, speak negatively about others.

Think before you speak about someone... and remember the old addage, If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"

Happy Birthday!

Tomorrow is my niece Adleigh's second birthday.  It's funny to me how fast time flies. :) It seems like just yesterday I was getting off of work and racing to the hospital thinking my sweet niece would be there soon... little did we know she would wait until 3 in the morning to show her beautiful little face.  I am so proud of my sister and brother in law for raising such a smart and sweet little girl.  She knows how to dress herself, put on her shoes and talk amazingly well.  Today her momma and daddy are throwing her the cutest and most fun birthday party a girl could ask for at a place that is filled with bounce houses and such for kids to just go have a ball in. =D  I just wanted to tell my sweet Adleigh Claire that your Aunt Jess loves you more than anything and lol i'll always be here when you need someone else to spoil your little self rotten. <3 Love her!!

St. Patty's Day!

I don't have anything special to write about right now.. however, it's Thursday and I got off at noon, life is Great! I"m so happy to be home with my famly. <3 T-ball practice is tonight.. i'm excited, maybe Payton and I will go outside and enjoy the sun and try to ignore all the wind : )  Happy St. Patty's day!

Five little leprechauns scurrying by my door,
One jumped away, then there were four.
Four little leprechauns climbing in my tree,
One hid in the green leaves, then there were three.
Three little leprechauns, just a busy few,
One went for a pot of gold, then there were two.
Two little leprechauns, having lots of fun,
One hopped over the rainbow, then there was one.
One little leprechaun, with all his work done.
He slipped off for a nap, then there were none.

Raindrops falling on my head

My day started this morning at 6am.  I woke up, lounged in bed for about 10 minutes, then hopped out of bed, got dressed ... and headed to the bathroom for makeup and a quick hair style. My hair was curled just right...   I finished getting ready, had to hunt down the hair spray, grabbed my lunch out of the fridge, and  headed out the door to find it had started pouring and I had no clue where my umbrella was.

I got a tiny bit wet, but lived to tell about it, and by the time I drove an hour to work, no rain in sight... makes walking 2 1/2 blocks in the cold a little more tolerable. :)

When I walked into my office this morning, it was so good to be around people so happy to see me.  I fell right back into the swing of things, and went straight to work in Jury Duty. My favorite, haha... 300 people who don't always listen to directions... what fun!!  I spent the next couple of hours waiting on HR to finish my re-hire paperwork and getting my things ready...after I had confirmation that those things had been done, I took a nice trip in the cold, back two blocks to re-do direct deposit info and get my new county parking permit... :)   Not too long after my return from HR, it was lunch time.  Today I had a Marie Callender's frozen meal - Beef Tips and Mushroom sauce.  Pretty good for $2.00!!

I'd say all in all I've had a good first day back.. now I'm off to play with a little boy whom I missed very much... I was told he cried for me all day :(  I hate that.

Happy Reading!!

What I want most

Last week I made a list of bills to pay( general numbers or guesses of what I thought was owed) and things I wanted/needed to do... the next day, I received a bill in the exact amount that I had written on my list.  I also got a call from my previous boss, saying please come back to work... Please!!!  I agreed... I finally have everything straightened out with my previous university and will be attending college in the Summer... Since things have been going so AWESOME for me,  I've been contemplating other things I want or would like to have.

Number 1 :
A degree!  I am almost finished with school, I just need to finish the rest of my Sophomore year, Junior and Senior. :) I am ready!!!

Number 2 :
2011 Camaro.  I absolutely love the new Chevy Camaro!! I think I would like to have one in red or navy blue. :)

I am most definitely not one to want something to make a statement.  I purely like this car for the design and horsepower... not to mention I consider myself to be a Beatiful younger lady that would look SMOKIN' HOT in this car... haha now my challenge is to figure out where to put Payton's booster seat in the backseat.  =D I'll get it done!!

Number 3 :
I entered to win a trip to the 46th ACM awards not long ago.  I am convinced that I will win... the drawing for the 2 night stay in Vegas to see the ACM awards is March 17.  I don't normally make a big deal out of celebrities... I do however think it would be awesome to get to meet all of my favorite singers and see them all perform and be recognized for their work.

Number 4 :
I try not to focus completely on material things... it is good to have great people around you..  a set of great friends.  I already have friends.  However, it is always good to have more... so I would like more great Long term friends. : )
You Are A Great Friend

Number 5 :
For as many people as possible, to see the love of the Lord through me, and come to know him.  I know Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior and others should too.  He died on the cross to forgive each and every one of us of our sins, even though we did not deserve it.

HELLO TO ALL OF MY VISITORS - HERE AND THERE!!  HOPE YOU ENJOYED TODAY'S POST... TUNE IN NEXT TIME FOR MORE!!

Earthquake and Tsunami

Tsunami surge from Japan quake hits Hawaii

A little bit after 6:30am this morning, here in East Texas, I woke up and started watching The Weather Channel's coverage of the Catastrophic Tsunami in Japan.  The footage shown was horrifying.  I am sad for all of the residents of Japan who had 30 seconds after the Earthquake warning sirens went off to prepare, obviously they did not know that it was going to be of such high magnitude.  According to my Yahoo news this morning, they were shortly after hit with a 23 foot wall of water.

It is hard for me, a little Texas girl to fathom being there in the center of all of this chaos, and to think that others across the country probably don't have a care in the world, because they are not directly being affected by water or the earth shaking violently.  All of the people affected by these horrible disasters will be in my heart and prayers.

According to the Weather Channel, 1 cubic foot of water weighs 1700 pounds, I can't imagine the force of 23 foot tall waves  coming toward me, my home or my town.
FACTBOX - Tsunami developments in the Western ...

It is my opinion that we as Americans, sometimes put these types of events out of our mind, classify them as something that could never happen to us, we are better prepared, have more technology, more money... however nature does not care about those Elitisms.   We are not Immune. I often wonder how our country would react if we experienced such wide-spread damage.  Sometimes it is easy to watch from afar and maybe send a couple of dollars, or a gallon or two of water and still go about living our happy lives.  Would it be that easy to go about our lives if our fellow citizens of the United States were in desperate need of help?

Below are some pictures of the damage in Japan so far:

In the Garden

Yesterday we spent time as a family in our garden planting red onions, white onions and bush beans.  It was such a joy to be out in the beatiful sunshine with the people I  love most.  I had fun capturing our time together digging in the dirt on our hands and knees. My son and my niece who are both under the age of 5, were so precious and innocent learning how to gently press seeds into the ground and, dig tiny holes to poke our onion bulbs down into.   As we were sitting in the garden, busy digging holes and placing seeds, I started singing Standing on the Promises of God.

I am so very blessed to have a Lord that promised to never let us be without all the things we need.. our garden is proving that we will never be hungry.   Once all of our onions and seeds were in the ground , the Lord provided us with the rain needed to help them grow.  Our God is Awesome!!  Today, on Ash Wednesday, tell the Lord that you are grateful for all the things he has given you and that he will always fulfill your needs.

Sewing our Seeds

Pink and White Daisy

It has been an absolutely gorgeous day here in East Texas.  Yesterday we started preparations for our garden.  We bought Tomato plants, white onion bulbs, red onion bulbs,a blackberry vine that may produce fruit up to the size of plums and about 20 different seed packages (watermelon, cucumbers, lettuce, squash).  Once we came home from several stores, then the tilling up of garden space began. Payton, my son, has now decided that this space is his own personal dump truck and digger zone. :o) I'm ready to start planting, hopefully next week it will be warm again.  Our weather has been pretty much like Spring for two-three weeks, and then again this morning, we had a frost and a 33 degrees. I'll post pictures later of our garden and our plants. Have a Great Sunday Evening, Stop by again soon!!

Until Next time,
